On Sunday 14th June at lunchtime there was the wonderful feel of a family get-together at St Mary’s. Many of our mission partners were with us in a great time of sharing. An introduction and news were shared by mission partners in the hall, whilst the ‘barbecuers’ worked through stacks of sausages and beef burgers in the sunshine.
Everyone then had the delight of sharing food together on the deck, many hearing more from the mission partners sitting with them, as children ran around the garden. The conversations were able to carry on after the food was gone – it was a wonderful picture of church family spending time together.
For some it was a chance to meet a mission partner, some a chance to catch up, for some to be encouraged in witnessing in their own Maidenhead lives, and for others being energised as they look ahead to short term mission opportunities.
Why not ‘come round for lunch’ and join the family barbecue next summer – you’ll be glad you did! In the interim, you could use the display in the entrance to the hall to learn about our mission partners or log in to the church website to hear about their prayer needs.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
