Our passion at St Mary’s is to know Jesus and to make him known.

We are an evangelical Anglican church family who enjoy praising God for his goodness to us and learning together from God’s word the Bible, which contains all we need to know Jesus and to love and follow him. We are a diverse church family who are committed to caring, supporting, and praying for each other.

We are the borough church and have been serving the local community for over 700 years. On Sundays we have five congregations with around 500 adults and 150 children worshipping with us each week. We run Sunday groups for ages 0-14 in our 9.15am 11.00am and 4.00pm services, our 14-18 year olds attend our 6.30pm service, and there are numerous activities for different ages during the week including parent and toddler groups and groups for children and youths.

For adults, our Growth Groups meet during the week to give us the opportunity to deepen relationships, study God’s word and pray for each other. We also run courses; there’s Christianity Explored for those who are exploring the Christian faith and Christian Foundations for people who want to work through what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

At St Mary’s, whatever your age, you are sure to find something to suit you and a place to use your skills and talents. You will find details about our groups and activities on the What’s On and Sundays pages.
