Between April 20th and May 3rd, people from across our town submitted 468 honest, raw questions to the Maidenhead’s Questions website.

This isn’t just a spreadsheet of data; it is a fascinating, unfiltered window into the questions our community is grappling with. If you’ve ever wondered what your neighbours, colleagues, or commuting companions are thinking, here is what matters to Maidenhead:

  • Suffering & Pain: 168 questions (by far the biggest topic)
  • Jesus & His Identity: 88 questions
  • Heaven, Hell & Eternity: 63 questions
  • The Existence of God, Doubt & Faith: 51 questions
  • Religious Diversity: 38 questions

I was very struck (and surprised) that after suffering, the identity of Jesus is the very next thing on people’s minds.

To answer these cries for meaning, we have recorded a series of high-quality podcasts featuring excellent speakers tackling each of these five areas. We are doing everything we can to get these into local ears—including a fresh billboard outside Maidenhead station, physical flyering, and via social media.

More powerful than all of these would be a recommendation from you.

If these are the questions Maidenhead is asking, they are almost certainly the questions your friends, family, and colleagues have. Sharing the podcast link doesn’t require a masterclass in evangelism or an awkward pretext. It can be as simple as sending a text message.

Try copying and pasting one of these simple approaches to a friend today:

“Hi, I was listening to this local podcast and it made me think of you. Hope you’re doing well!”

“I’ve just been listening to this discussion on [topic]—I’d be fascinated to hear what you think of it.”

It is low-pressure and entirely inoffensive. They might politely ignore it, or it might just be the spark that starts a life-changing conversation or leads to an invitation to church.
