But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”(Luke 2:10-12)

At Christmas we celebrate the most wonderful news in the world. We remember that the Lord God has entered into the world he made. The Creator of all became a baby wrapped in cloths lying in a manager. He did it to be our Saviour, to rescue us from our sins and bring us into a living relationship with him.

My prayer this year for those of us who are familiar with the Christmas message is that God will open our eyes to see anew the wonder of what he has done and that we will be filled afresh with joy, faith and love for the Lord our Saviour. I am also praying that there will be many who hear the good news of Christ this Christmas and come to know him and trust him for the first time.

Please take a moment to read below about our Christmas services. There will be Evening Carol Services, a Crib Service and a Christingle Service for children and adults of all ages, and a Garden Carol Service. This is a time of year when many of our friends, neighbours, colleagues and family members will be pleased to come to a Christmas service. Please think and pray about which services you will attend, and about who you could invite to come with you to meet with Jesus Christ this year.
