Groups for primary-aged children
Our Sunday groups run at 9:15am, 11am and 4pm.
The children come into the church with their parents and spend about 15 minutes with the whole church family before going to their age appropriate groups.
Please see the groups below for specific details and contact our children’s worker for more information.
Climbers (school years Reception, 1 and 2)
We follow a course of books entitled "On The Way" .The course takes us through the Bible picking out key stories to give your child a simple Bible overview by the time they leave Climbers at the end of year 2.
Each week we combine songs, games and craft with a Bible story, a memory verse and an opportunity to say a short prayer. We aim to have fun in our learning and increase the children's understanding of God with the hope that in time they will develop their own personal faith.
At 9:15am, we meet upstairs in the Old Vic.
At 11am and 4pm, this is a joint group with the Treasure Seekers, meeting downstairs in the Old Vic
Our leaders are Stuart McDowell (9:15am),(11am) and (4pm)
Explorers (school years 3 to 6)
We learn about Bible stories and characters through games, drama, music, reading and crafts. We meet together as one big group for an introductory activity then split into two groups, years 3-4 and 5-6, to continue our learning and make it relevant to our lives. We have great interactive fun with lots of treats and surprises. We aim to teach the Bible in a fun and practical way, encouraging the children to think for themselves and develop their understanding and faith.
We also have an annual Explorer holiday: Explorers Abroad.
We meet in the Nash Room of the Halls at 9:15am, 11am and at 4pm.
Our leaders are:
- 9:15am Kate Wheatley
- 11am Kate Wheatley
- 4pm (years 3 & 4) and Chris Smart (years 5 & 6)
