Official Church Opening
We held a reception to mark the official opening of our refurbished church building on Friday 1st June 2018 from 6pm-7pm. Community groups were invited, as well as Theresa May, the Prime Minister and local MP for Maidenhead, and all from the church family.
The Heart of Things
In January and February 2018 we marked our return to the town centre by hosting a contemporary art show by Paul Hobbs. The Heart of Things looked at life in the context of faith and included paintings, sculptures and installations. Paul was on hand to talk to visitors during the events. More details are available on the special event page.
Real Lives 2017
The first week after Easter saw the popular Real Lives programme return to St Mary's. The week was packed with a series of relaxed chat-show style events, and offered the chance to hear people from all walks of life whose lives have been changed by Jesus Christ. To find out what happened, take a look at the Real Lives 2017 page.
Home and Away 2016
The 2016 "Home & Away" church day away was on Saturday 24th September at Holyport College. Our speaker was James Muldoon, co-pastor at Carey Baptist Church, Reading.
Royal Concert and Tea Party

On 21st April 2016, our Queen turned 90! To mark the occasion in Maidenhead, St Mary's church hosted a Royal Concert and Tea Party.
The afternoon included:
- Royal favourites performed by renowned organist David Goode and Matthew O'Donovan
- Interview with Deborah Bean who spent 40 years in Her Majesty's service, responding to her personal correspondence, and a short reflection on "a true servant" from Will Stileman, the vicar
- Birthday card craft activity for children
- Tea party with cucumber sandwiches and cream tea!
Maidenhead's Big Questions
#MBQ2016 was a big initiative with three simple steps:
- Ask: What is your big question?
- Discover: What are Maidenhead's big questions?
- Hear: See what you make of the answers to your questions
Take a look at the MBQ page to find out more about what happened.
Rugby World Cup

We had a great time watching South Africa v Scotland and England v Australia (20:00) on Saturday 3rd October in St Mary's church hall. There was also a meal provided in between the matches, and a short presentation about how being a Christian affects the world of rugby.
Home & Away 2015
The 2015 "Home & Away" church day away was on Saturday 26th September at the BCA. Our speaker was Andy Byfield, who older church members may remember from when he attended St Mary's. It was a great day for studying God's word together and spending time with all the congregations. In the evening, we also saw the Rugby World Cup match where Wales (unfortunately!) beat England, as well as a family movie.
Holiday Club 2015
"Mission Impossible" was our theme for the holiday club we held at St Mary's from 26th-28th August 2015, where the children found out about God's special agent Jesus, who fulfilled God's mission brief, rescued us from sin, and died and rose again.
Annual Mission Barbecue
On Sunday 9th August 2015, we held our Annual Mission Barbecue, an opportunity to catch up with some of our mission partners:
- Jo Clifford (Tanzania)
- Wayne Dixon (Christian Connections In Schools, Slough)
- Steven and Jo Wheatley (SIM, Malawi)
Ceilidh
On Saturday 11th July 2015, we held a Ceilidh. It was great fun and half way through there was a short talk on "how to live life to the full".
Saltshaker Conference
In May 2015 we welcomed Becky Manley-Pippert, author of ‘Out of the Saltshaker’ to lead us in a day of teaching and training in how to share the news of Jesus with others. It was a fantastic day with lots of practical tips to take away.
Walk of Witness

At Easter we held nine services from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. On Good Friday we joined other local churches for the Walk of Witness in the town centre. We are heavily involved in this event every year.
Evidence for the resurrection
On Tuesday 31st March we welcomed High Court Judge, Jeremy Cooke to St Mary’s. He spoke on ‘What’s the evidence for the resurrection?’ You can listen to this talk here.
Real Lives Week - 2014

In 2014 we welcomed evangelist Roger Carswell and six special guests to St Mary’s for a “Real Lives Week”. It was a great week! On our busiest night we had about 300 people packed into the church to hear from Billy McCurrie, previously a UVF terrorist who has since come to faith in Christ. You can listen to the interviews and talks here.
